The First Friday of each month has long been a cornerstone of Troutdale’s art community and businesses in our downtown. For two decades, the First Friday Art Walk has brought people together to experience what Troutdale has to offer. The event runs throughout the year inside Troutdale's galleries, businesses, and restaurants.

During the summer months, we take First Friday a step further by closing the downtown stretch of Historic Columbia River Highway to traffic and opening up the street and sidewalks so our galleries, businesses, and restaurants can expand their services outside. What is an intimate indoor setting during the winter months, First Friday transforms into a bustling street fair featuring dozens of local artists and artisans, sidewalk dining, and live music at Mayors Square. Younger visitors will love the Kid Zone, which offers plenty of activities to keep them entertained.

In addition to the wide variety of food and drink options served by our local restaurants and nearby food carts, you can also enjoy a beverage from a pair of soon-to-be local craft breweries, Wayfinder Beer & Away Days Brewing. There's an even an ice cream truck so you can grab a cool treat while you meander through our downtown.

These expanded First Friday happen on the first Friday of the month through September from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. but we encourage you to come early and stay late to enjoy everything Troutdale has to offer. If your travel plans are for later in the year, you can still enjoy Troutdale's art scene indoors on the first Friday of every month, excluding January.
