Movies in the Park Brings the Magic of Cinema to the Great Outdoors

Get ready for an enchanting evening of film, food, and fun at Movies in the Park this summer! Troutdale Recreation is bringing the magic of cinema to the little league baseball field at Imagination Station with a pair of FREE double features in July and August.

First up is a throwback night on Friday, July 28. Since the setting is a baseball field, what better way to start the evening than with the beloved classic, "The Sandlot." The heartwarming tale of friendship, adventure, and the love of baseball will start at 6:30 p.m. Want more? As you wish. When twilight descends, the entertainment will continue with a screening of the timeless fairy tale, "The Princess Bride," starting at 8:30 p.m.

On Friday, August 18, it’s all about the summer blockbusters! First up is "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" at 6:00 p.m., followed by the action-packed "Top Gun: Maverick" at 8:00 p.m.

Whether it's families looking for a fun night out, friends seeking a unique hangout, or individuals simply wanting to unwind, Movies in the Park offers an unforgettable experience. Rather than having to wait until dusk to project films on a traditional big screen, we set up a giant LED video wall. Even though there will still be daylight when the show begins, you won’t have any problems enjoying the magic of the silver screen under the late-evening sun.

And what’s a movie night without snacks? We will welcome several vendors who will be selling a variety of food options right next to the viewing area.
