The Gateway to The Gorge Visitor Center opened in the spring of 2022 in the historic Troutdale Rail Depot building, originally constructed in 1882 by Union Pacific. The building also holds the Troutdale Historical Society's Depot Rail Museum. These fabulous resources provide everything visitors need to learn about and plan for a wonderful experience in The Gorge.

Columbia Area Transit (CAT) provides daily service from Portland to Hood River and back, with a stop in Troutdale via the Columbia Gorge Express. The annual Gorge Pass costs only $30. Those seeking an experience that includes Mt. Hood can board The Gorge-to-Mountain Express from Hood River.

The U.S. Forest Service is a detailed source of information on the Columbia River National Scenic Area. The unique attractions, important notices and trip planning information can be found in one easy-to-use location. 

Friends of the Columbia Gorge has advocated for The Gorge’s scenic, natural, cultural, and recreational resources since 1980. During that time, it has purchased scenic and sensitive lands for long-term preservation and worked with students and volunteers to increase the awareness of reasons for Gorge stewardship.

Mt. Hood & the Columbia River Gorge is a tremendous resource for trip planning in the area, including the Infinity Loop, a scenic tour route beginning and ending in Troutdale that features the awesome highlights of the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood.

The Sasquatch Shuttle is a convenient way to view the seemingly limitless waterfalls and vistas, or access your favorite hiking trail in The Gorge, all without driving your car. In 2022, it is adding a new stop in Troutdale!

The Waterfall Trolley removes the stress of driving, parking and making reservations along the Waterfall Corridor. Visitors can hop on and off at one of ten stops along the route, making sightseeing and hiking the relaxing endeavors they are meant to be.
