The Taste of the Gorge is happening now! Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the tremendous food and drinks grown, produced, brewed or bottled in the Columbia River Gorge region.

The inaugural year of this celebration runs from September 15 through November 15 and involves about 80 restaurants, wineries, breweries, family-owned farms, u-pick orchards, and more specially selected for their sourcing of local ingredient sourcing practices that the local food system. The West Gorge Food Trail runs from Troutdale to Hood River, and the East Gorge Food Trail picks up at Mosier and The Dalles before crossing the river to the Washington side. Together, they traverse through 15 towns in Oregon and Washington, covering 80 miles of this internationally known, magnificent landscape that draws worldwide visitors.  

Two Troutdale participants are perfect stops to kick off the Gorge Food Trail. LoLo’s Boss Pizza is a locally owned pub serving delicious pizza created with local ingredients and products in the dough and sauce made daily. The menu offerings are made possible by the care and skill of local bakers, brewers, farmers, and winemakers. Sugarpine Drive-In is a destination restaurant on the Sandy River in Troutdale’s Glenn Otto Park. With origins dating back 100 years as a gas station servicing travelers on the Historic Columbia River Highway, Sugarpine honors the area’s history through a nostalgic menu of days gone by. 

Win prizes with the Taste of the Gorge Passport

Beyond the obvious culinary benefits of expertly crafted ciders, beers, and wines paired with locally sourced and created dining fares, the fun extends with the opportunity to win prizes with the Taste of the Gorge Passport. Participants can collect passport stamps at each location they visit, either through a four-digit code with a digital mobile passport or a physical stamp on a paper passport.

More visits increase the chances of winning prizes, such as $25 gift cards for the participating locations,  Gorge food-themed swag or Grand Prizes. The East Gorge Grand Prize is an overnight stay at the Balch Hotel in Dufur. The West Gorge Grand Prize is an overnight stay at the Skamania Lodge in Stevenson. Each grand prize includes three $25 gift cards to businesses on the respective trail.
